There are three ways to engage with this blog and connect with other parents navigating AI. None of them require sharing personal information with this site — you choose the platform you already trust.
Part of the reason I chose this approach is because I don't want to embed services that collect information, use cookies, or install trackers. If you want to read the content, you can do that without an account. If you want to engage further, you can use GitHub, Reddit, or Facebook — whichever fits how you already use the web.

Comment on a post (GitHub)
Comments at the bottom of each post are powered by GitHub Discussions through a tool called Giscus. You need a free GitHub account to comment.
Create a GitHub account
- Go to github.com and click Sign up.
- Enter your email address and choose a username and password.
- Your username is the only thing visible on your comments. Choose something you're comfortable with.
- Verify your email address when GitHub sends you a confirmation message.
GitHub accounts are free. You won't be asked for payment information.
Leave a comment
- Scroll to the bottom of any blog post — you'll see a Comments section.
- Click Sign in with GitHub inside the comment box.
- GitHub will ask you to authorize the Giscus app — click Authorize giscus.
- Type your comment and click Comment.
Your comment will appear immediately and notify me so I can respond.
Guidelines: Comments are moderated. Questions, personal experiences, corrections, and suggestions are welcome. Off-topic posts or anything disrespectful will be removed.
Join the conversation on Reddit
r/parentsguidetoai is the community space for ongoing discussion — not just about posts on this blog, but about parenting and AI more broadly.
Reddit is well-suited for: - Starting a conversation that isn't tied to a specific post - Asking other parents what they're seeing in their own families and schools - Sharing news articles or resources you've found - Following up on topics from the blog in more depth
You'll need a free Reddit account to post or comment. You can read threads without an account.
Join the Facebook group
The Parents Guide to AI Facebook group is a good option if Facebook is where you already spend time and connect with people you know.
The Facebook group is moderated and intended for the same audience as this blog — parents and caregivers who want to understand AI without needing a technical background. New posts from the blog are shared there as they go live.
Report a problem with the site
If you find a factual error, a broken link, or anything else that seems wrong, the fastest route is a GitHub Issue:
- Go to github.com/ygjb/parents-guide-to-ai-blog/issues.
- Click New issue.
- Give your report a short title — e.g., "Broken link in Post 5" or "Factual error in AI scams post".
- Include which post the problem is in, what's wrong, and a quote or link if it helps.
- Click Submit new issue.
I review issues regularly and will update the post if the report checks out.
Privacy note
This site does not use analytics, cookies, or tracking. When you read a post, nothing about your visit is recorded here.
When you engage through a third-party platform:
- GitHub (Giscus): Can see your GitHub username and public profile. Does not access your repositories or private data. Giscus privacy policy.
- Reddit: Governed by Reddit's own privacy policy. Your Reddit username is visible on posts and comments.
- Facebook: Governed by Facebook's privacy policy. Facebook groups use your real Facebook identity.
Each platform is independent of this site. I don't receive your account information from any of them.
